At JN LAW, we place great importance on clear and transparent arrangements regarding fees and costs. At all times, you should know how your lawyer’s fees are calculated and what costs are associated with your matter.
Accordingly, the financial arrangements are discussed and agreed upon at the outset of every engagement, ensuring full transparency throughout the matter.
Legal Fees
Fees compensate your lawyer’s intellectual work, including legal advice, the drafting of documents, mediation and litigation. At JN LAW, we generally work on the basis of a fixed hourly rate. However, depending on the nature of the matter and in consultation with the client, fixed-fee or contingency-based fee arrangements may also be agreed.
Costs
In addition to fees, certain costs are also charged. These are costs incurred on your behalf, such as court fees, travel costs or expert fees.
Provisions
At the outset of each matter, we request an advance payment (provision), the amount of which depends on the complexity, urgency and nature of your case. During the course of the proceedings, additional provisions may be requested, in line with the progress of the matter.
Legal expenses insurance
If you are covered by legal expenses insurance, you retain the free choice of lawyer. In that case, fees and costs are usually covered by the insurer, meaning you often do not have to make any payment yourself.
